David & Nathan Zellner

AMovieGuy.com's HOT SEAT- INTERVIEW

David is the shorter one, a bit more outspoken. Nathan is the taller one, a bit more reserved. The Zellner brothers are family second and directors first, I think that is abundantly clear. The dynamic duo that made Kid-Thing and more notoriously, Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter work together with a shared love, not just because they are related, but because they compliment one another in ways not many directors do. It's impossible to not view them as a new wave version of the Cohen brothers, because that's just the obvious choice, and after working together on five features, they have firmly planted themselves as a fantastic pair of directors. Their newest film Damsel is a humorous spin on the western genre, including strong performances from Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska. AMovieGuy.com's Leo Brady had the chance to sit down with the Zellner brothers to talk about acting in their own films, making Robert Forester walk around in long-underwear, and changing the way we see westerns for good. Watch it here:
